In the heart of the Norrbotten coastline, far from the hustle and bustle of the big city and where the lush green forests stretch to the horizon, we find YouCall, a company that is so much more than just a place where calls are answered.
YouCall’s headquarters are located at Furunäsets Företagsby in Piteå and serve as much more than just a hub for central communications. The company is actively committed to being a reliable partner in its customers’ success stories and an employer that people want to work for.
The history of YouCall is a story of change and growth. The company was founded in 1996 by its then-owners, SOS Alarm and the Municipality of Piteå. As of March 1, 2022, the company is wholly owned by SOS Alarm.
Today, YouCall is a safe workplace for approximately 80 employees who share a common vision of making people and society safer.
At YouCall, we believe it’s important to create meeting places and forums where everyone has the opportunity to feel a sense of community and well-being.
Behind YouCall’s success lies more than just business strategies and technological advancements. It is the company’s deeply rooted culture of commitment, security, and transparency that has made it a unique workplace. According to Anneli Olovsson, CEO of YouCall, it is important to create a workplace where people feel good, seen, valued, and included.
“We want it to be easy to work here,” she explains. “We try to accommodate requests and offer a high degree of flexibility so that personal life and work can coexist.”
Anneli Olovsson, CEO, takes pride in the fact that at YouCall, everyone is seen and valued. The company is a place where you should feel included and where core values are central.
Jane Öberg, HR Manager, explains that they are working on something they call “preferred schedules.” It’s a concept that takes into account the whole picture of an employee’s life, aiming to help them balance their daily routine.
“Of course, we want our employees to stay here for the long term,” she says.
She looks back on her own journey within the company, where she started as an Operator before moving on to become a Coach, Team Leader, Group Manager, and most recently, HR Manager. This is a fairly typical example of how one’s career path can evolve at YouCall.
The informal atmosphere at YouCall welcomes everyone, regardless of background or experience.
“People who have moved on to another employer often come back here,” says Anneli Olovsson. “They miss the security, the core values, and the sense of belonging to YouCall. We have a wonderful mix of people and personalities here.”
Here is Jane Öberg, HR Manager, together with some colleagues.
An important part of YouCall’s commitment to maintaining a healthy work environment is Hartic, a tool for measuring and promoting well-being in the workplace. For Anneli Olovsson and her colleagues, Hartic has become a useful tool for understanding employees’ needs and creating an environment where everyone feels included and valued.
“Hartic helps our managers gauge how our employees are doing,” she explains. “The tool makes it easier to maintain the kind of workplace environment we want, where everyone is engaged and takes responsibility for their well-being.”
By digitizing and streamlining work processes, YouCall can better monitor workplace well-being in real time and provide support where it is needed most. For Anneli Olovsson and her colleagues, this is just the beginning of their ongoing journey to create a workplace where people feel good and thrive.
– Thanks to Hartic, our leaders gain a head start and can ensure higher quality in their meetings with employees. In-person meetings become more substantive when we have a better foundation to build on.
Jane Öberg adds:
– Hartic is a coaching tool, and it’s so rewarding to see how “eager” our employees are and how much they truly want to participate in surveys and the subsequent dialogue.
During our visit to YouCall, it became clear how capable leaders and employees, equipped with the right tools, can create a workplace where everyone truly thrives, despite their different backgrounds and experiences.
When asked why YouCall chose Hartic over other similar tools, she replies:
– You’ve nurtured our relationship and listened to our needs. We’re able to participate in the dialogue and provide feedback on product development. The fact that everything happens in real time, allowing us to act immediately, is a major plus.
Would you and your company like to learn more about Hartic and see what the tool can do for you? See more information or why not sign up for an account. We’ll let you try Hartic for free for 14 days with no commitment or cancellation fees.
